All inclusive resorts benefit the tourist, but do they benefit the country or location?
All inclusive resorts are convenient because they allow the customer to pay one price that can include meals, soft drinks, and most alcoholic beverages. However, it's important to read the fine print when booking an all inclusive resort. It's important for the customer to see how "all inclusive" the vacation actually is.
This is an appealing option because the customer no longer has to worry about purchasing other products during their stay at all inclusive resorts. Many all inclusive resorts include a spa resort casino. In general, all inclusive resorts have received a sleazy reputation, typically on cruises. However, there are many reputable resorts, such as Disneyland that offer the all inclusive option. You can have an inclusive stay at the Walt Disney World Resort which is a wonderful option that can cater to an entire family.
However, there is controversy with the all inclusive resorts that are owned by multinational corporations. A frequent criticism with all inclusive resorts is that it does not help the economy where the all inclusive resorts are located. Since it's a multinational corporation that owns the all inclusive resort, the money for the lump sum does not go directly towards the location of the visitor's stay. Many visitors have the mentality that they've paid off most, if not all of the vacation in one lump sum. Therefore, most people will not be willing to spend more on their vacation.
